About

Before specializing in film criticism and arts and culture writing, I worked as a hard news journalist for several years, writing for a variety of regional and international outlets. I have extensive experience reporting breaking news, penning feature stories, doing events coverage and writing human interest stories for publications like Xtra and palabra., as well as a host of regional publications in South Florida and West Texas. As a culture critic, I have written both at length and in short form for distinguished publications like Paste, Bright Wall/Dark Room, Miami New Times, Cineaste and more. I have experience writing both in English and Spanish, having also served as a content writer for the European Film Festival of Puerto Rico.

In addition to writing, I also have experience editing and proofreading. During the time I spent getting my Bachelors degree at FIU, I spent two years on the editorial board for PantherNOW, the university’s student-run newspaper, where I served as Opinion Editor. I’ve also worked as both a writing tutor and teaching assistant at Boston University, instructing undergraduate students in film studies and general communications courses, and providing feedback on assignments.

When I’m not busy meeting deadlines or stressing out over grad school, you can find me at the movies or at your nearest coffee shop.
